Multimodality images registration method,which composed of maximum mutual information and POWELL algorithm based on wavelet decomposition,has many advantages such as avoiding optimizer trap into local maxima,quick convergence and highly accuracy.The matching results of CT/MRI and CT/PET demonstrate that the registration dependent on wavelet-decomposition can be a robust,fast and accurate registration method.
