Digital Watermarking Algorithm Based on HVS and DCT

In the paper,combining image brightness and texture characteristics,a new watermarking algorithm is introduced based on HVS and DCT. The image is demarcated into smooth area,edge area and texture area,transform the image by DCT,then inset intensity is decided by characteristic of HVS and inserted the watermarking into the middle frequency coefficient of DCT of original image area. It improves the robustness、the security and invisibility. Simulations and experiments verified practicable of the algorithm.
