The Report of Development on the New "Medium Open Circuit Respiratory Calorimetry Apparatus"

In order to satisfy the developmental requirement of scientific research for metabolism of energy substances in farm animal the process technology of an open circuit respiratory apparatus which had been extensively applied was impro-ved. A advanced medium open circuit respiratory calorimetry apparatus was own-designed and own-installed with the na-tional-made instruments, meters and own-made parts. This equiment basically achieved the entire auto-control level by using the method that the electric system (several kinds of sensors) combined with the computer. It could measure many content indices and results during the whole period (on line) or at different stages (single), such as gas exchange and energy metabolism.
