Design of Urban GIS Application Based on Component Object Model

The technology of COM(Component Object Model) is employed by urban GIS(Geographic Information System) application.The architecture of the software framework is analyzed.Moreover,an urban GIS application is given as example to illustrate the module design and realization method based on MapObjects of ESRI and an object-oriented developing tool Visual C++.Experiment results show that ComGIS(Component GIS) is able to improve the efficiency of software development and give great support to Digital City by code reuse and seamless system integration.
