The Digitization of Video Archives:Principles,Equipments and Steps

The digitization of video archives should be under the process of sampling, quantifying, compressing and coding, which touched the concepts of color space, sampling frequency,sampling precision and compressing standard, etc. The system for archival video digitization consists of four parts: video player, sampling equipment, editing system (software) and storage devices. The steps involved in the process include dealing with original video, preparation of equipments and connects, video editing and format conversion, disc engraving and follow-up works etc.
