The lexical chunk,as one form of multi-word units or constructions,can be defined as the smallest semantic structural unit which is composed of multiple words and can be used independently to produce sentences or utterances and can realize certain grammatical,discourse or pragmatic functions.Lexical bundles can be categorized in terms of structure,function,number of component words,frequency of occurrences,and fixity of the components.The best approach to the identification of lexical chunks is triangulation.
