Representations of information needs in information retrieval and information filtering

Representations of information needs are important factor affecting results of information retrieval and information filtering. This paper introduces some basic representations of information needs, then analyzes and compares their influences on information retrieval information filtering. At last, it puts forward some ideas that improve these representations.
