An US Dollar Number Recognition System for Location and Division Based on a Projection Method

The immediate and instant recognition to the number on the banknote of US dollar plays an important and positive role to our foreign currency deposit.This thesis introduces a recognition method based on a projection method to locate and divide banknote numbers.Making use of character's features of projection to locate and divide the banknote numbers,and extracting four stable and effective characteristics of abscissa,ordinate,intersection point on the horizontal and vertical direction,this method can realize the recognition at the rate of 98% to the number on the bank note of US dollar immediately and instantly.
