SVBSMP: Self-adaptive variable block size memory pool

Many speed Internet applications require speed memory management structure.Based on the characteristics of the Apache memory pool algorithm and the traditional fix size block memory pool structure,a new memory pool structure named Self-adaptive Variable Block Size Memory Pool(SVBSMP) was presentd.SVBSMP is a speed, scalable memory management structure and very fit for the high speed process of vast amount of IP packets Internet application.Experimental result shows that SVBSMP has a good performance in time/space trade-off problem. It can reach about 23% faster than malloc/free system call, and consume 52% fewer memory than that of traditional simple fix size memory pool.
