Information Technology of Microwave Remote Sensing for Defense Applications

Jin Yaqiu · Journal of Microwares · 2000

Advance of information technology for space-borne microwave remote sensing has promoted the study of defense problems, such as the national security, battle-field monitoring, missile guidance, target detection and tracking, pre-alarming and electronic countermeasure, etc. This paper presents some progresses of the research works for defense application . It includes the study of terrain clutter and Doppler shift of moving targets, detection of ship wakes, inversion of underwater topography from SAR images, simulation of bistatic scattering at low grazing angle incidence, and parameters retrievals from microwave remote sensing data, e.g. SAR, SSM/I, in specific regions.
