Progress in Study on Synthesis of Hexamethylene Diisocyanate Curing Agents

Hexamethylene diisocyanate(HDI) is a kind of important aliphatic isocyanate monomer.Coating and adhesive will have excellent weather resistance,gloss retention and chalking resistance which uses the curing agent made from HDI.Because of the same reactive activity of two isocyanate groups on the HDI structure,the synthesis of corresponding curing agents is hard to control,the technology is complicate and the production process has many difficulties.The progresses in synthesis of HDI curing agents are reviewed,including HDI biuret,HDI trimer,HDI-TDI copolymer and HDI-TMP adduct.The overseas production technique of such compounds and the deficiency existing in our country are also introduced,as well as the problems need to be solved in this field in order to provide references for the RD for domestic companies.
