An Algorithm for Iris Processing Based on Improved Perona-Malik Equation

Iris preprocessing is one of the most important parts of Iris Recognition system to affect the quality and efficiency of recognition.The article presents a new method of Iris preprocessing which use diffusion filter based on improved Perona-Malik equation to process Iris smoothly.This method makes use of the edge-preserving smoothing character of the diffused filter to pick-up some points of Iris' internal edge.The simulating result shows that method the article mentioned is superior to the existing methods.The performance for speed,robustness and precision achieve high level.
