A cooperative e-learning system based on IP multicast

One of the important characters of the E-learning system is the support for interactive coopera-tion, it plays a very important role in the development of student creation awareness, cooperation spirit and the ability of using communication tools. In order to satisfy the need of this functionality of an E-learning system, this paper realizes a prototype with cooperative function to support application sharing, whiteboard sharing, real time communication and file transmission besides it has the function of document browse, task referring and imformation query. Based on the advanced IP multicast infrastructure, the system has some significant features such as good scalability, low complexity and strong ability for real time application.
