Generator of Test Traffic in the Network Tester at 10Gbps Rate

The generation of test traffic, especially at OC-48 rate and OC-192 rate, is an important topic because network equipment and application performance experiments need to be urgently performed in order to validate high-speed Internet backbones and equipments. Moreover, it is a fact that there is not a proper scheme for generating high-speed test traffic. Therefore, this paper designs and implements the Traffic Generating and Transmitting System(TGTS) for testing performance of very high-speed network such as a internet backbone with OC-192 rate. The TGTS achieves to generate various test traffic with several stream models, alterable length, various type of protocol and varied payload. As a result, The TGTS solves the problems which exist in the current methods of generating test traffic. Lastly, the authors perform several experiments upon the TGTS and have made it clear that the TGTS accurately generates and transmits test traffic in accordance with user requirement..
