The Transformation of Two-Dimensional Shallow Water Equations under Orthogonal Curvilinear Coordinates

L Zhang · Journal of Jiamusi University · 2009

In the research of plane two-dimensional unsteady open channel flow, the boundary-fitted coordinate technology is often used to establish two-dimensional orthogonal curvilinear coordinates. In this way,it is comparatively difficult to deduce the two-dimensional shallow water equations after the change of coordinates. This paper proposed a method of tensor analysis which is simple to present a form of two-dimensional shallow water equations, which have been widely used in the calculation of open channel flow, under orthogonal curvilinear coordinates.
