Synthesis Experiment of Hydrophobic Polyacrylamide

Hydrophobic polyacrylamide was an important water-soluble hydrophobically associating polymer,which could be synthesized by a variety of ways.Homogeneous copolymerization and surface reactive monomer method was combined to synthesize hydrophobic polyacrylamide.At first,a surface active hydrophobic associating monomer Span 80-AA which had surfactant active,was synthesized from Span80 and acrylacid,then the monomer Span80-AA was polymerized with acryl amide.Reaction time,initiator concentration,solvent ratio,large hydrophobic monomer content and temperature on the viscosity and molecular weight of polymer was investigated,thus the optimal experimental conditions were obtained.
