On the basis of the analysis to the practical sense information distribution and the engineering requirements of the wireless sensor network,a novel wireless sensor network heterogeneous deployment model(WSNHEDPM) is proposed. The sensor node with the necessary sense module is composed according to the distribution of the sensed physical components, thus the redundant information and the energy burden of the wireless sensor nodes are reduced. The theoretical and experimental analysis is made to compare both deployment plans in the parameters of the deployment cost, the power consumed and the survival period. The analytical and simulation results show that the WSNHEDPM is more energy efficient and more reasonable for the wireless sensor network to face the universal application area.
