Analysis of Transitivity in Academic Paper's Abstracts

With the coming of the information age,academic paper as an important route of information transmission,its role becomes more and more important.As the essence of the paper,the abstract is the most important part to exchange and disseminate new knowledge,as well as attracting readers' attention.With Halliday's transitivity theory in systemic-functional grammar,the transitivity characteristics in academic paper abstract,both in Chinese and English,are analyzed.Comparing the similarities and difference,there will be a theoretical model for editors and translators to take as reference.
