Frame Rate Up-Conversion Algorithm Based on Zero Detection and Vector Filter

A self-adaptive frame rate up-conversion algorithm for video format conversion was proposed in the paper. Improved 3-step block-matching(ITSS)algorithm was used for motion estimation algorithm. The motion vector was revised by zero detection and vector filter. In addition,weighted-adaptive motion-compensation interpolation(WAMCI)can effectively reduce the impact of noise,remain the moving boundaries of images and reduce the interpolation error effectively,increase the adaptability and improve the quality of image. Experimental results show that the method is easy to compute and realize, and has a better signal-to-noise ratio and visual performance.
