Application of Wavelet Transform to Analysis of Water Level Digital Observation Data

Wavelet transform is a new signal processing method rising in recent years, which has a nice local characteristic in both time and frequency domains. Wavelet analysis not only can describe local characteristics of transient signals accurately, but also can observe characteristics and evolutions of signals in different frequency ranges through multi-scale transform. Making use of the above characteristics, good effects were obtained by applying the wavelet transform to separate diverse frequency solid tidal waves, draw co-seismic water level fluctuations and long period water level precursors, and identify co-seismic response with interference.
