Image Encryption Scheme Based on Cat Map and Lu Chaotic Map

Jian Zhang · 2007

Chaos is widely used in image encryption because of its high sensitivity to initial conditions and parameters and its stochastic series. Classical Arnold cat map can change the position of image pixel points through iteration, but these pixel points will return to the original position after iterating many times. So it will bring some dangerous to the system. The shortcoming can be avoided by using Arnold cat map and Lu chaotic map, and it can attain the purpose of confusion and diffusion. Through theoretical analysis and simulation, the method was proved to work well.
