Flow-Based Network Coding in Wireless Networks

In this paper,a flow-based network coding algorithm in wireless networks is proposed,which combines network coding and wireless networks,and utilizes wireless lossy links and the broadcast nature of wireless media.Based on proactive routing,this algorithm exploits the routing table of every node,detects the coding opportunities,and encodes those packets from different flows satisfiable to the coding conditions,thus to increase the throughput of the networks.Simulation in NS-2 indicate that FNC has increased the throughput and improved the performance of the entire network.
