Chinese Traditional Music: Modulation of Tonal Color

The article is an attempt at the exploration of xuangong and fandiao by means of modern music language and mathematics, referring to these two terms as tonal modulation and mode modulation respectively, as well as to the similar scale modulation as tonal color modulation in Chinese traditional music.
