Speckle Filtering and Smoothing of Synthetic Aperture Radar Image

The speckle noise in Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR) image blocks the application of SAR.This paper analyses traditional smoothing algorithms and statistic algorithms of restraining speckle noise,and applies these algorithms to internal wave SAR images from ERS-2.According to speckle noise smoothing parameters,Gamma filter is the best algorithm for restraining speckle noise.
