Research on Incorporating Semantic Relationship into OODBS

The integral definition of our model is presented,in which the characteristic dimension integrity is to describe the integrity of objects,and part-whole semantic relationship is the familiar relationship between objects,but the popular commercial OODBS does not provide the built-in support for it.So,Mr. Halper presented a methodology based on the metaclass mechanism to incorporate the part-whole semantic relationship into OODBS.Because there are a few kinds of OODBS which support the metaclass mechanism,this methodology has limitation to some degree.Dealing with this problem,in this dissertation,a methodology to incorporate part-whole semantic relationship into OODBS is presented.The methodology is universal for there is no limitation of OODBS.
