Research and Applications of an XML-based WfMS

With the development of Internet technology, advanced e-services require efficient, flexible, easy-to-use workflow technology that integrates well with mainstream Internet technologies like XML and Web. By the analysis of fundamental structure of WfMS, and combining development of practical network purchasing system, an XML-enabled WfMS architecture is presented, in which the middle layer adopts J2EE model, client runs on Web browser, communication protocol is XML-format. And then its key issues, such as workflow definition, implementation of system interfaces and client, are also introduced.
