Simple Network Management Protocol(SNMP) can not meet the needs of network configuration management in nowadays development. Therefore,XML is used in network management to solve this problem. This paper aims to give a data conversion mode of SNMP Management Information Base(MIB) to XML format which includes compressing and categorizing SNMP MIB data reasonably, analyzing the characteristics of SMI and XML,and converting them correspondingly. Meanwhile, this proposed data conversion mode fills the Network Configuration(NETCONF) protocol data modeling limitations, and makes the implementation of NETCONF with better commonality and extensibility.
