Delay Estimation of Forward Pilot Channel and Search Window Parameter Setting

The structure of the forward pilot channel and the basic principle of search window in CDMA2000 system is analyzed.To investigate how to set the search window,the propagation delay,which is the most influential factor in setting the search window size during soft handoff,is estimated.Based on the existing theory and practical measurement,the method to set the search window size of the pilots in active and candidate pilot sets as well as neighbor and remaining pilot sets and its influence to the search performance is discussed,and the requirements to be satisfied in setting the search window size as well as the optimum strategies are presented.
