Currently, a major challenge of software radio is how to directly implement A/D/A converters of the RF signal. In this paper, we propose a new approach to process received signals in the frequency-domain. The key idea for the proposed method is to extract the frequency components of the received signal and to perform signal processing in the frequency domain. The proposed receiver architecture relaxes the requirements of analog-to-digital converters and opens the possibility for implementation of software radio receivers, it also shows its values both in theory and practice of software radio under current electronic technology, and overcomes the drawbacks of traditional Rake receiver, so it is highly suitable for a multi-path rich wireless environment.
