On Image Compression Technologies

Since the picture has very big amount of information,if we want to realize a real-time processing,we must carry out compression on the image.The purpose that the image compresses is to remove large amount of redundancy information of image,uses as far as possible few bytes to express a basic data,to improve the image transmission efficiency,cutting down the memory capacity of an image.This paper introduces several image compression technologies of lossless compression and loss compression and application filed,at the same time,analyses and discusses to their algrithm characteristic.
