Research on a Low-power Direct Digital Frequency Synthesis

A low-power sine-output Direct Digital Frequency Synthesizer(DDFS) is presented.A piecewise linear interpolation scheme to approximate a sinusoid function for phase-to-sine amplitude converter block is used to eliminate ROM.Power consumption and system complexity are significantly reduced by adopting the system of hardware optimization architecture.The synthesizer achieves 60dB spectral purity from DC to Nyquist frequency.
