Implementation and comparison of network plug-and-play technologies

The network plug-and-play technology is becoming more and more important in the heterogeneous network environment. The work mechanism of some currently used network plug-and-play technologies of middleware such as Jini, Universal Plug-and-Play and Salutation, in this paper, is analyzed and compared in detail. The advantages and disadvantages of each technology and the problems involved are clarified. At the end of the paper, the prospect of these network plug-and-play technologies are prospected.
