Survey of image retrieving techniques

Research on visual information retrieval has recently witnessed a booming interest.The quality of an image retrieval system mainly depends on its veracity,speediness and efficiency for retrieving images.In this paper,the authors investigate various image retrieving techniques,such as content based image retrieval,semantic based retrieval in image databases,interactive image retrieval using relevance feedback,knowledge based image retrieval and so on.From evaluating them,the authors have presented the current challenges and future trends for visual information retrieval.
