Design and Implementation of Transportation Planning GIS Temporal and Spatial Data Models

Transportation information has distinct temporal and spatial distribution characteristics.The need for temporal and spatial information processing in the area of transportation planning promotes the research of GIS temporal and spatial data models.In this paper,based on the spatial vector data structure of ESRI's Geodatabase and the object oriented method,temporal dimension is added to transportation spatial data to express temporal information.Then,through the method of apparently storing events,the historical topologies are built.As a result,the storage and management methods of geometrical,semantic,temporal and topological information of transportation objects are explored.
