Improved foggy image enhancement algorithm based on fuzzy logic

An improved fuzzy-enhancement algorithm based on transformation of sine function is brought out according to the shortcomings of traditional algorithm.By normalizing the fog-image first,the algorithm allays the impact on gray levels distribution range under different fog conditions.Then the image is changed from gray domain to fuzzy domain by an improved fuzzy algorithm,the pixels in the low gray region are reduced,and the pixels in the high gray region are enhanced.Finally the image is changed from fuzzy domain to gray domain.Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can more effectively improve the contrast of foggy image.
