A Method for Stitching Images Based on Inverse Perspective Mapping(IPM)
Tao Wu · Microcomputer Information · 2010
Aimed at getting a better effect of stitching images with big angular field of view, this paper proposed a new image stitching method. In this method, inverse perspective mapping (IPM) was first utilized to solve the problem of too big parallax when stitching two images with big angular field of view. Multi-resolution matching method was then utilized for improving the matching speed. After that, the method of choosing characteristic regions was utilized for improving the matching precision. Experiments show that this method is valid for stitching images with big angular field of view in simple environments.
