A New Sub-Parts Retrieval Method Based on Interactive Segmentation

How to obtain partail matching and then realize searching for a specific part inside a 3D model from similar and different models in the database is a challenging work.Presently,although the method based on statistic characteristics has a better retrieval result,but it doesn't support partial matching and can't be used for sub-parts retrivial.Skeleton and graph based methods support partial matching,but they are sensitive to the model topology.So the paper presents a new sub-parts retrival method based on an interactive segmentation algorithm.An interesting part on the mesh is got by using an interactive segmentation method.Then the paper analyses the shape distribution on the surface of a sub-part,uses PDF-L1 norm to compare the dissimilarity between these parts.Experiment shows that the sub-parts retrieval results are better.
