Estimation of Expenditure in Power Station Incurred by Condenser Fouling

Zhiming Xu · Power engineering · 2005

A method for estimating expenditure in power station, incurred by condenser's fouling, is being proposed and the resulting economical loss analyzed in respect to redundant surface area, product loss and operating maintenance. The 100 MW and 200 MW sets of Changshan Power Plant are taken as examples for the redundant surface area analysis, which shows that the redundant area amounts to about 16% and causes an investment increase of 5876 Yuan RMB per megawatt. Another condenser of the 350 MW turbine of Huaneng Dalian Power Plant's set No.4 is taken as an example for analyzing product loss and for operating maintenance analysis, based on data of on-site measurements. Results show that the total economical loss for our whole country, caused by the condenser fouling, got to 2.81 billion Yuan RMB during the year 2000. Figs 7, tables 3 and refs12.
