Design of random interleaver based on the distribution of low weights of turbo codes

Considering the weight-2 self terminating sequences and its two combination, a new design method of random interleaver is presented in this paper. If the weight-2 self terminating sequences and its two combination are the main components of the low weight distributions of Turbo codes, a much higher minimum-weight can be obtained by the new interleaver. The simulations show that the new designed interleaver has a super performance to the other interleavers for both AWGN channel and fading channel.
