Load balance based on rumor mongering in structured P2P networks

An approach of load balance to avoid hotspots in structured P2P networks based on rumor mongering is put forward, which makes use of the periodical topological maintenance communications between nodes to piggyback and propagate popular information in hotspots. The effectiveness of this approach is studied on Chord system, and simulation is run for evaluation. Rumor mongering process in other form of networks and rumor management problems are also discussed.
