Reverse Page Table Technology for Page Migration in CC-NUMA System

Xuejun Yang · Jisuanji gongcheng · 2005

Page migration is an important policy to exploit memory locality optimization in CC-NUMA systems. The implementation of page migration policy involves translation from physical addresses to virtual addresses in a virtual memory based system,it need travel through all the process address space in traditional approaches, which is inefficient and costly. Aiming at this problem, an efficient technology to realize translation from physical addresses to virtual addresses in OS kernel ,named reverse page table is introduced .Emphasis is especially put on the application of reverse page table in page migration policy.
