The research review on the function of visual word form area

The function of visual word form area located in the left middle fusiform is the focus of many researchers.The issues discussed in the present paper include whether the visual word form area is specialized in visual word form processing,or it also can process other kinds of visual stimulations;whether the external features,abstract meaning or orthographic regularity of words is processed in the visual word form area;and the signal characteristics of different stimulations in the visual word form area.
