Noise Removal in EEG Using Maximum Signal Fraction Approach

Hua Huang · Microcomputer Information · 2009

The electroencephalogram(EEG) signals reflect brain activity of organisms, many noises are interfused into electroencephalogram EEG signals during the recording process, such as eyeblink、eyemovements、cardiac electric activity and myoelectric activity, which affects people's right to observe and analysis the EEG signal. In order to remove these noises in EEG effectively, a novel method, based on the Maximum Signals Fraction (MSF) theory, is presented in this paper. The experiment result shows that the MSF approach can remove the regular noises and interferences in EEG effectively.
