Application of Ultraviolet Technique to Corona Discharge Detection

Based on the fundamental and technical features of ultraviolet detection technique,the application of ultraviolet technique to corona discharge detection for electric power equipment is expounded in terms of conductor damage detection,HV pollution inspection,insulation defect test and radio interference source location,etc.Main factors affecting ultraviolet detection are analyzed,which include detection distance,atmospheric humidity,temperature,air pressure,altitude and apparatus gain.At last,the development of ultraviolet detection criteria is described,and the existing disadvantages of the ultraviolet detection technique are indicated.
