Data Compression Application in Extension of OBEX Protocol Based on J2ME

Data compression is the process of encoding data so that its storage space or transmission time is minimized.The OBEX protocol is a compact binary protocol for exchanging complex data in a simple,efficient manner.This paper introduces a new extension of OBEX protocol in Java 2 Platform Micro Edition(J2ME).The extension makes use of compression and encryption in order to minimize the transmission time respectively and to establish secure channels.
