DDS Chip AD9956 and Its Application

DDS is characterized by high frequency resolution,rapid frequency switching and low phase noise.Basic theory and main performance of AD9956,the product of ADI Corporation,are introduced in this paper.A fast speed frequency synthesizer of frequency hopping communications is designed by the chip AD9956.The result of the measurement is as follows: the spurious is less than-80 dBc,the time of hopping frequency is less than 100ns.Based on the results of the experiment,the distributing rules of the spurious noise of the DDS and the method of reducing it are analysed and summarized at last.
