Study of the Unfairness on Ad Hoc Multi-Hop Networks

The unfairness problem of TCP connections was analyzed, and the DWDB (double Windows dynamic backoff) mechanism to solve this problem was proposed to modify the exponential back-off algorithm and retransmission scheme in 802.11 MAC sub-layer. The proposed mechanism is dynamic and sensitive to the change in the network condition and topology. Also, the simulation results show that the problems mentioned above were solved by using our new method.
