Design of Three-band Adaptive Biorthogonal Filterbanks by Lifting Scheme

Signal-adapted filterbanks are an important subject in the theory and applications of the multirate filterbanks.Because the frequency responses match the statistics of the underlying signals very well,these filterbanks achieve the larger subband coding gains.In this paper,we investigate the design of three-band adaptive biorthogonal filterbanks by lifting scheme,and give the design algorithm.Finally,experimental results show that the subband coding gains can be markedly improved.
