Adaptive Transmission of Real Time Video Based on Active Frame Dropping Strategy

The quality of video playback is significantly affected when packet loss occurs during the transmission of network.To reduce the impact,an active frame dropping strategy was proposed.It tests the network traffic before transmitting data into network and discards some not-so-important frame of the video according to the test result.The simulation results show that this strategy significantly improves the performance of video playback and decreases the congestion at the same time.
