Characteristic Value Problem For Generalized Jacobi Matrices

Many practical problems in science engineering require the computation of large matrix characteristic value problems. For example, some problems in vibration engineering can be solved by the computation of the characteristic value problem for Jacobi matrix.This paper concerns mainly the characteristic value problem for generalized Jacobi matrices.A generalized Jacobi matrix has a positive product of the elements on secondary diagonal,some important results are also presented.
